Facilities Assistant - Part Time (20.0 hours/week) - Regular schedule to be determined. The successful candidate will be available to work evenings and weekends on a rotating basis; therefore, flexibility is necessary.

 

Salary: From $11.97/hr., depending on experience

 

Benefits: Vision insurance plan; Employee Assistance Plan; 457b Retirement Savings Plan with employer match. Additional benefits may be available based on regular schedule and will be discussed at time of hire.

 

Reports to: Facility Services Manager

 

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Routine/thorough cleaning of the Library & grounds including, but not limited to, all entryways, restrooms, meeting rooms, and office spaces
  2. Daily disposal of trash throughout the Library
  3. Meeting room set-up according to patron specifications
  4. Transport of heavy materials (such as furniture, books, supplies, and AV equipment); assistance is provided when necessary
  5. Seasonal snow and ice control and removal from entryways; watering/maintenance of planters around the exterior of the Library

Skills Required:

  1. Handyman skills desirable
  2. Safe use of ladders, janitorial supplies, and various maintenance equipment
  3. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis; team lifting techniquires are routinely used
  4. General knowledge and experience operating basic hand tools and equipment
  5. Must have a valid Illinois Driver's License, reliable transportation, and proof of valid auto insurance
