Exam Proctoring


Exam proctoring is available free of charge to residents of the Batavia Public Library District and to individuals who own property within the Batavia Public Library District.


For non-residents / non-property owners, there is a fee of $25 per exam.


Students must schedule the exam with a librarian prior to the date of the exam. Please visit or call the Reference Desk, (630) 879-4777, to inquire about this service.


Notary Public


Library staff members who have been appointed as notaries public by the State of Illinois are available to notarize documents, free of charge, during most Library hours. To confirm that a notary public will be available when you visit the Library, please call (630) 879-4777 to inquire. Notaries at the Batavia Public Library will not assist in the completion of I-9 forms.


Voter Registration


The Library has a number of personnel who are trained as Voter Registrars. It is best to call the Library, (630) 879-1393, to make sure a Registrar will be working when you plan to visit.  


When registering to vote, please bring two forms of identification. At least one must be a photo ID, and at least one must have your current address.


Fax Machine


The library provides a self-serve public fax machine. You must have a credit card to use the fax machine.

Domestic faxes cost $1.75 for the first page and $1.00 for every additional page.

International faxes cost $3.95 for the first page and $3.45 for every additional page.




The Library provides a scanner, which is available free of charge. It can scan books, photos, and documents. There is an 11x17 flat bed scanner for most items, as well as a document feeder that can scan both sides of a document at once. You can save the file as a pdf, searchable pdf, Word document, tiff, or jpg. You have the option of saving to a flash drive (USB), emailing the item, printing the item in black-and-white (10¢ per page) or color (60¢ per page), or saving the item to Google Drive (if you have a Gmail account).


Print from Anywhere 




Batavia Public Library’s Wi-Fi printing service allows printing from laptop computers that are connected to the Library’s Wi-Fi network, from home computers with an Internet connection, and from mobile devices with an Internet connection.


Wi-Fi print jobs can be retrieved in the Computer Room on the main level of the Library (near the Adult Services Reference Desk) during Library hours.   


Your print job will require payment (using coins, $1 bill, or a Batavia Public Library print card) before the print job can be printed. Black-and-white printouts cost 10¢ per page. Color printouts cost 60¢ per page.


Unclaimed print jobs are deleted 24 hours after they are sent.

The Library provides three photocopiers. Two photocopiers provide black-and-white copies, while the third provides both color copies and black-and-white copies. Use of the photocopiers requires payment using coins, $1 bill, or a Batavia Public Library print card. Black-and-white copies cost 10¢ per page. Color copies cost 60¢ per page.


Microfilm Reader / Printer


The Library provides a microfilm reader / printer, which is available free of charge. It reads both microfilm and microfiche. You have the option of printing images in black-and-white (10¢ per page) or saving images to a flash drive (USB) or to Google Drive (if you have a Google account).

Batavia Public Library contributes books to a deposit collection:

Rack at the Track

Rack at the Track is a collection of paperback books at the Metra train station in Geneva, which travelers can borrow on the honor system. This service is provided in cooperation with Geneva and St. Charles Public Libraries.
