Internationally acclaimed Richard Henzel brings Samuel L. Clemens to Batavia with a captivating mix of reminiscences, readings, and gentle humor drawn from the author’s writings and biographies. The Year of Mark Twain in Batavia

In honor of the 150th anniversary of Samuel L. Clemens’ visit to Batavia in 1869, Mayor Jeffery D. Schielke has officially proclaimed 2019 as The Year of Mark Twain in Batavia. The Library has initiated a year-long, collaborative, community-wide celebration.
