The Year of Mark Twain in Batavia
In honor of the 150th anniversary of Samuel L. Clemens’ visit to Batavia in 1869, Mayor Jeffery D. Schielke has officially proclaimed 2019 as The Year of Mark Twain in Batavia. The Library has initiated a year-long, collaborative, community-wide celebration.
Take a selfie with Mark Twain who waits on his bench near the Library’s front door. Pick up your Mini Mark inside the Library or stop by the Batavia Public Library Foundation tent at the Batavia Farmer’s Market on June 1 or July 13. Take Mini Mark on all your summer adventures! Share your photos with us on social media by using the hashtag #MarkTwainInBatavia.
