Individuals with current Library cards issued by the Batavia Public Library District and who are in good standing (no bills or fines totaling over $5.00) may borrow materials from the Library.
A Batavia Public Library cardholder in good standing may use his or her library card at other libraries to borrow materials, subject to the lending rules and policies of the other libraries. Those materials are the responsibility of the individual who borrows them and are subject to all of the fines, rules, and regulations of the lending library.
Often libraries limit the borrowing privileges of reciprocal borrowers, and it is best to inquire about local rules and procedures before making your selection. Reciprocal borrowing privileges at the Batavia Public Library will be extended to patrons of any library that extends privileges to residents of Batavia.
Individuals presenting a valid card from another public library in Illinois and a photo ID or other proof of identity may borrow materials from the Batavia Public Library, provided that their privileges in their home library are not suspended for any reason.
Home delivery service is available to Batavia Public Library patrons who are unable to visit the Library for health or vision reasons. This service includes free delivery of Library materials, including books, large print books, audiobooks on CD, DVDs, videos, CDs, and magazines.
