Request for Proposals for the Operation of a Café at the Batavia Public Library

The Board of Library Trustees of the Batavia Public Library District (“Library”), a special unit of local
government, has authorized the Library Director to seek proposals from experienced operators to
establish and operate a café / concession business — café, coffee shop, diner, etc. — in the Library’s
facility at 10 South Batavia Avenue (Illinois Route 31), at the intersection with Wilson Street, in
Batavia, Illinois.
The Library intends to enter into a lease agreement with an operator meeting the criteria set forth
in a Request for Proposals (“RFP”), which is intended as a guide for interested respondents. The
selection process is expected to encompass both a thorough review of the proposals and an interview /
negotiation process.
Copies of the Library’s “Request for Proposals for the Operation of a Café at the Batavia Public
Library” may be obtained from Michele M. Domel, Administrative Assistant, Batavia Public Library, 10
S. Batavia Ave., Batavia, IL 60510-2449; (630) 879-1393  310; rfp@bataviapubliclibrary.org.
Proposals will be received until 2:00 p.m. Local Time on Monday, 24 May 2021.
